B Psych, Grad Dip Edu
One of the newer additions to Thrive Psychology, Henry is a provisional psychologist, at the Canberra office, who holds a Bachelor of Psychology and a Graduate Diploma of Education from James Cook University, Townsville. After a brief career as a teacher, Henry now splits his time between delivering psychological services in a clinical setting, and helping clients who have suffered a psychological workplace injury return to the workforce. In that capacity, Henry has extensive experience in helping clients who have suffered work-related trauma (adjustment disorder or PTSD) return to the workforce. Henry also has experience in conflict resolution, career transition, and in counselling people with a wide range of psychological disabilities.
Henry incorporates elements of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, and Solution-Focussed Brief Therapy into his treatment. Despite moving on from his work as a primary school teacher, Henry has a strong interest in continuing his work with children; but he is also strongly interested in assisting adults in treating anxiety, depression, and managing chronic pain. Henry has a strong client focus and works compassionately, logically, and with a strong ethical foundation to help clients solve problems and improve their lives.
